Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 09/27/15
Premiere week closed out with NBC dominating Sunday night. The Denver vs Detroit NFL game collected 19.7 million viewers and a 7.3 rating in the A18-49 demographic. That is the lowest rated of the three Sunday night games, but unlike the first two, this was a game dominated by the Broncos.
The Series finale of the original CSI ended on a respectable note. 12 million viewers watched the return of William Peterson and the good-buy of a series that redefined the crime drama genre. CSI may be the biggest scripted program of this century, but we still have 85 years to top it.
ABC's three dramas premieres got off to mixed results. ONCE UPON A TIME was way done, year to year. the 5.9 million viewers for the 2015 premiere is about 60% of the audience for the 2014 premiere. The 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49 is just slight above half the number as last year. That led into the new drama BLOOD & OIL, which increased total viewership, but had roughly a 20% drop in the demographic ratings.. Closing the night was QUANTICO, which posted the network's best numbers of the night, including a 1.9 rating in the A18-49 demo.
FOX gave us all five season premieres to the five comedies and they all performed about the same. but they are significantly down from the October 5th ratings, which also featured no NFL overrun as a lead in. But, they all did stay above the ratings of MULANEY's premiere numbers.
