Final Broadcast Ratings: September 29, 2015
NBC not only swept the Tuesday night ratings, it had the biggest gains, week-to-week. THE VOICE rose in total viewership, from 12.4 million viewers to 13.6 million viewers and the demos gained an average of three tenths of a point each. BTE/NPH appears to be the real thing, staying consistent with its ratings, over its first three weeks. It does lose about half the audience THE VOICE delivers it, but considering NBC's success rate over the last decade, they'll take a solid performer.
FOX also saw gains, thanks to SCREAM QUEENS moving back to just one hour, now at 9 p.m. The premiere of the two new comedies did solid numbers, although FOX is still in 4th place in the hour. Both THE GRINDER and GRANDFATHERED pulled in 1.5 rating in the A18-49 demo, plus drew an average of 5.2 million viewers for the hour. Last year, NEW GIRL and MINDY PROJECT struggled to haul in 2.3 million viewers and averaged just a 1.2 demo rating. SQ dropped about 15% from last week's premiere.
CBS was down nearly a million total viewers, but received encouraging numbers from the new series, LIMITLESS. The 10 p.m. series GREW out of its 9 p.m. lead in, in the A18-34 and A18-49 demos and held 100% of the A25-54 demo. LIMITLESS basically held its audience from last week's premiere.
THE MUPPETS took a hit, losing about a third of its audiences, in all categories. It is still the top ABC show of the evening, but that big of a week-to-week drop is concerning. The season three premiere of AGENTS OF SHIELD picked up where it left off, last season. The 4.9 million viewers and 1.7 rating in Adults 18-49 is a little above its spring average and on the mark from last fall's average.
