Ratings Review: THE SIMPSONS (Season 26)
As the great Marc Berman has stated, THE SIMPSONS will out live us all. After 26 record breaking seasons, THE SIMPSONS can still draw an audience and be relevant in the ratings, especially with younger viewers. How many 25+ year old shows does better with the A18-34 demo than it does with the A25-54 demo?The series has 32 airings this season, which included 10 repeat episodes. It averaged 4.27 million viewers and a 1.9 rating in Adults 18-49. Take out those 10 repeats, the average jumps to 4.8 million viewers and a 2.1 demo, in the Live +SD Ratings.
In the Live+7 ratings, THE SIMPSONS averaged 5.68 million viewers (+33%) and an Adults 18-49 rating of a 2.6 (+37%).
The end is not coming anytime close as FOX has already renewed the series for two more seasons, through the 2016-17 season.
