Ratings Review: THE SIMPSONS (season 24)

The Simpsons is currently the #2 primetime TV series, in number of original episodes produced, with 528. it is now just 107 episodes behind the all-time leader, GUNSMOKE. Based on current production runs, THE SIMPSONS should past the classic western sometime in the middle of season 29, or early 2018.

I bring this up because, the ratings are still relatively solid and I do not see FOX ever getting rid of the series. It still draws a young viewing audience that is mostly loyal to the series. In fact, we may not see the end of THE SIMPSONS, in our lifetime.

On average for the 2012-13 season, THE SIMPSONS drew around five million viewers per episode and a solid mid-two demo rating. Is is that A18-49 demographic rating that fuels its success. It is the demographic/category that advertisers love and will pay top dollar to reach. So, three things are always certain... Death, Taxes and THE SIMPSONS.
