Final Broadcast Ratings: April 29, 2015
It was a close, competitive Wednesday night, in the network ratings. Just two million viewers, separated #1 CBS from #4 ABC. Just four tenths of a point, in the A18-49 and A25-54 demos, was the difference from the top network, ABC and the fourth place network, NBC.
NBC's crossover event with the two CHICAGO series and LAW & ORDER: SVU was a bit of a fizzle. Although both L&O and CPD were up from their last original episodes (April 8th), they are down from November's crossover event, by an average of about 15%. But, CHICAGO PD did tie CRIMINAL MINDS, in the demo, and L&O had an easy time dominating the 10 p.m. hour.
ABC's comedies pushed it to the top of the demo ratings, winning both the 8 and 9 p.m. hours. THE MIDDLE was up two tenths of a point, in the A18-49 demo, over last week, while MODERN FAMILY was down a tenth.
SURVIVOR tied LAW & ORDER: SVU as the most watched program of the night, with 9.3 million viewers. CRIMINAL MINDS is limping to the end of the season, with three straight week of losing viewership, from the previous week. CSI: CYBER held onto 83% of its lead in viewership.
AMERICAN IDOL is up another tick, in the A18-49 demo, over last week's rating, but is being more competitive as the other networks are falling back to its ratings.
