Complete Nielsen Ratings: March 9 - 15, 2015
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #92:
CBS returned to the top spot of the weekly ratings chart, taking the top spot in each category. But, it was not a dominating week, as all of the big 4 networks were tightly bunched in the two younger age demographics. In the A18-49 demographic, just two tenths of a ratings point separated #1 CBS (1.6) from #4 FOX (1.4). Just four tenths separated them in the A25-54 demo.
CBS' win was from its base scheduled series. CBS had the top two programs, NCIS and THE BIG BANG THEORY, Seven of the top 10 and a total of 20 of the top 30 shows. Only the three shows from Saturday night, failed to be in the top 35. With exception of EMPIRE, on FOX, CBS was the only network to have scripted programming in the top 20.
NBC was the #2 network of the week, but managed just four shows i the top 30, with THE VOICE taking spots #4 and #5. CHICAGO FIRE (#25) and THE BLACKLIST (30) are the network's only scripted programs in the top 40. The patchwork schedule included four editions of DATELINE, running Thursday through Sunday. The four nights finished 53rd, 39th, 54th and 44th, respectively.
ABC edged FOX for the #3 spot, lead by the season finale of THE BACHELOR and its AFTER THE ROSE special. The two programs finished in 16th and 17th positions, representing the networks only two shows in the top 25. SCANDAL, at #28, rounds out ABC's top 30 shows.
FOX was hot or cold during the week. EMPIRE was the #3 program in total viewers and #1 in the demo, and AMERICAN IDOL placed 14th and 26th in the top 30. But every thing else placed 57th, or worse. The season premiere of THE FOLLOWING drew just 3.5 million viewers, placing 62nd. It, like NBC, are doing as good as they are by a couple of very strong shows, with everything else limping along.
