Final Broadcast Ratings: February 9, 2015
For the second strait Monday night, ABC win the A18-49 crow, with another season best performance by THE BACHELOR. The series pushed up its best number to 8.7 million viewers and a 2.7 rating in the A18-49 demographic. Since the season premiere, on January 5th, THE BACHELOR has grown 900,000 viewers and 23% in the demo ratings. If the trend continues, look for a very strong season finale, perhaps topping a 4.0 demo.
CBS was easily the most watched network, grabbing 10.5 million over the night. SCORPION returns for its first original episode in the February sweeps and post ratings even with its last original episode, on Jan 19th. The comedies were down, from last week's numbers and NCIS: LA won the 10 p.m. slot, Topping CASTLE did tie it in the A18-49 demo.
NBC has shrunk THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE down to one hour, at 9 p.m., but running a clips show beforehand hurt the rest of the night. The one hour original episode fell 2.3 million viewers and 33% from last week's two hour episode. NBC either needs to keep the show at two hours, or air the original episode at 8 p.m.
Over on FOX, GOTHAM is losing steam, fast. It posted another season low, with 5.6 million viewers and a 1.8 demo. That is down another tenth in the A18-49 ratings and a loss of 200k in viewership. Those lower numbers dropped SLEEPY HOLLOW to even poorer ratings, posting the lowest numbers of the night from the big 4 networks.
JANE THE VIRGIN posted gains out of THE ORIGINALS, something it has not done since mid-October. Either there was a local market preemption, or THE ORIGINALS have hit a rough spot.
