Preliminary Ratings: Tuesday 01/20/15

With the STATE OF THE UNION SPEACH took up about half the night for the big 4 networks, left the door open for the for the CW to climb up the ranking of the nightly average. With both THE FLASH and SUPERNATURAL airing their first original episodes in more than a month, the CW was tied for third in the A18-49 ratings. But, the numbers were down for both shows. THE FLASH was off by one million viewers and 13% in the demo, from the last original episode, on December 9th. SUPERNATURAL was near even with its last episode, down just 100k in total viewers.

FOX and NBC was rewarded with just one hour of programming thrown into the averages, with FOX taking first in the demo, with NBC a close second. CBS would have done great, if not for a repeat of MIKE & MOLLY at 10:30 p.m. But, ABC was a loser before and after the Presidential address.

Although they will not be included into the network averages, NBC was the broadcast home of younger viewers watching the STATE OF THE UNION, with a 1.5 demo rating. CBS grabbed the most viewers to watch their coverage. FOX and ABC didn't do much with their coverage.
