Preliminary Ratings: Tuesday 01/06/15

With the Big 4 networks mostly back in new episodes, CBS had an easy time sweeping the night, thanks to very strong numbers form its crime drama line up. Each series won its time slot in both categories, and posted its best numbers of the season. The two NCIS series ad their best demo ratings since the season/series premieres, back in September.

ABC had some success from its limited run series AGENT CARTER. The Marvel series hauled in a 1.9 demo ratings, along with 6.9 million viewers, second in both the 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. hours. The ratings rose over 1.5 million viewers and more than 10% in the demo, over the fall finale of AGENTS OF SHIELD. Perhaps ABC should look at three series, at 13 episodes each, during a season, instead of relying on one series to take the brunt of the load.

FOREVER looks to be toast, ranking a very distant 3rd place, at 10 p.m. It was nearly two million viewers behind #2 CHICAGO FIRE and over a half point less than PERSON OF INTEREST and CHICAGO FIRE, in the demo ratings. Bad Move ABC. now you have another half season of a series that viewers abandoned, early on.

FOX was a decent 3rd place, thanks to a strong showing by MASTERCHEF JUNIOR. The kids cooking show was just edged out of 2nd place, in the A18-49 ratings, and had a decent level of total viewers. That lead into decent numbers for NEW GIRL, in the demo ratings only, but THE MINDY PROJECT flopped. MINDY dropped 50% of the demo, out of NEW GIRL.

NBC was irrelevant for the first two hours of the night, with a mix of PARKS & REC encores and new episodes of MARRY ME and ABOUT A BOY. None of them could pulling three million viewers nor get over the 1.0 plateau, in the demo.

ABC - 6.2 million viewers, 1.6 rating in A18-49

CBS - 15.6 million viewers, 2.3 rating in A18-49

CW - 1.3 million viewers, 0.5 rating in A18-49

FOX - 4.0 million viewers, 1.5 rating in A18-49

NBC - 3.8 million viewers, 1.1 rating in A18-49
