Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 01/01/15

Repeat programming proved to be more powerful than original programing, on Thursday night. CBS rules the night with an all encore lineup, with FOX ties for second place. ABC and NBC can't do any better than FOX, despite 2 hours of original programming by each.

ABC's THE TASTE hits a new low with the first new episode of the new year, grabbing just 2.7 million viewers and a 0.7 demo rating. It only edges FOX for third place, in the A18-49 ratings and in total viewers. Let's hope that season three is the final season to the low rated programming.

NBC didn't do much better, from 8 to 10 p.m. THE BIGGEST LOSER did marginally decent, to NBC standards, coming in a distant second place, at 8 p.m., with just a 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49. At 9 p.m., the lame duck sitcoms fall to fourth place, behind the repeat of BONES, in both reported categories.

CBS was the only network to have any programs over four million viewers and the only one to achieve over a 1.0 for an individual program.

CBS - 5.3 million viewers, 1.0 rating in A18-49

CW - 1.1 million viewers, 0.5 rating in A18-49

FOX - 2.8 million viewers, 0.6 rating in A18-49

NBC - 2.2 million viewers, 0.6 rating in A18-49
