Preliminary Ratings: Monday 01/26/15

It was a tight race between the big 4 networks, on Monday night, with ABC edging it out for the A18-49 demo crown and CBS grabbing the most viewers. Just three tenths of a ratings point separated the four networks in the demo ratings, with each network a tenth of a point behind the next one.

The night's most watched program was the annual special SUPER BOWL'S GREATEST COMMERCIALS, hauling in 10.8 million viewers and a 2.1 rating in the A18-49 demographic. The CBS special was just edged out by THE BACHELOR, in the demo, 2.2 to 2.1. It was the only original program on CBS for the night, yet it was the most watched.

THE BACHELOR topped last week's numbers, edging up another notch in each category. The season is progressing nicely as the ratings are trending upward each week.

FOX was a bit off its game, even though it was second in the A18-49 ratings. GOTHAM was down a tenth in the demo ratings, from last week's episode, and lost near a half a million viewers. But, SLEEPY HOLLOW was up a tenth of a point, with a couple hundred thousand more viewers.

THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE was down slightly, from last week's ratings, but up from two week's earlier. The fourth place rated reality series is keeping the time slot luke-warm for THE VOICE's return, in the spring. But, it is STATE OF AFFAIRS that is killing the night for NBC. The drama was the second least watched, Big 4 program of the night, behind SLEEPY HOLLOW, and the lowest rated original, in the demo ratings. It barely edged a repeat of CASTLE to keep from being the lowest rated program of the night.
