Final Broadcast Ratings: January 13, 2015
It was the beginning of the end, for PARKS & RECREATION, as the season premiere debuted to typical, yet disappointing ratings. The two episodes averaged 3.5 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49, during the 8 p.m. hour, and was 4th place during the hour. But, that is slightly better than last season's premiere, 3.3 million viewers and a 1.3 demo, on Sept. 26, 2013.
After the lame duck comedies at 9 p.m., NBC's CHICAGO FIRE is feeling the affects of poor lead ins. The drama was second in the 10 p.m. hour, in both viewers and the young demographic. The momentum has certainly shifted from NBC to CBS, in the time slot, as PERSON OF INTEREST has now over taken the falls top show, in the time slot.
CBS was the big winner on Tuesday, sweeping in both viewers and the A18-49 demo. NCIS was even with last week's episode, while NCIS: NEW ORLEANS was down about 8% from last week. PERSON OF INTEREST won the late hour, grabbing nearly the same audience levels as last week.
ABC placed a special SHARK TANK episode at 8 p.m. and drew the best numbers in the slot, by a regular series, since the early couple of weeks of the season. TANK was the networks best rated show of the night, as audience erosion progressed through the night.
Week two of AGENT CARTER didn't hold up too well, loosing 1.4 million viewers and 20% in the demo. We will find out soon if the DVR numbers make up the difference, or if viewers did not stick with the Marvel series.
FOX was a surprising contender for 2nd on the night, mainly because of MASTERCHEF JUNIOR is a competitive program, against the other three networks. The renewal of the series for a 4th season was one of the few wise moves FOX has made this season.
