Primetime Cable Ratings: December 5, 2014

GOLD RUSH was the top program of cable, on Friday night, for the fifth week in a row. This week, it drew its best numbers since that streak began, getting 4.3 million viewers and a solid 1.5 demo rating. That is a rise of over a half million viewers and a jump of 25% in the A18-49 demographic.

WWE SMACKDOWN was the night's top sports program, on cable, grabbing 2.5 million viewers and a 0.6 demo rating. That is more viewers than the college basketball game on ESPN. However, the ball game drew the higher demo rating, 50% larger than the audience of SMACKDOWN.

Hallmark pushed two movies into the top 10, with the late movie getting 2.6 million viewers, for the #3 spot of the night. The 8 p.m. movie took the #8 spot, hauling in 2.1 million viewers.
