Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 11/30/14

The final day of the four day holiday saw the final season premiere the veteran CBS crime drama, THE MENTALIST. Getting a little bit of a halo effect from the NFL overrun game, earlier in the evening, THE MENTALIST brought in 10.4 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in Adults 18-49. that is up 700,000 viewers, from the 2013 season premiere and the A18-49 rating was flat.

For CBS, it was a solid #2 for the night, coming close to NBC in total viewers and averaged a 3.1 demo rating, through the night. But, most of those impressive numbers come from the 30+ minutes of NFL football, and not from the regular line up.

NBC's SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL game looks to be coming in rather flat, given the match up and the relative closeness of the game, in the first half. We'll probably see a nice bump in the numbers, once the finals are released, later this week.

It was not a good night for ABC, which saw all four shows post season/series lows on the night. RESURRECTION performed like a dead show, but will not come back to life, like the plot of the series. It would not surprise me to see ABC pull the series before its commitment of episodes have aired. This once freshman hit series, is now a sophomore dog.

FOX was mostly in reruns on the night, with its two big series, THE SIMPSONS and FAMILY GUY, showing encores. But, some promising numbers from BROOKLYN NINE-NINE should produce some smiles at FOX. B99 produced a 1.4 demo rating, with a THE SIMPSONS rerun as the lead in, growing 40% in the category. That is a better A18-49 number NEW GIRL got earlier in the week, with a much better lead in program.

CW - 0.0 million viewers, 0.0 rating in A18-49

FOX - 2.4 million viewers, 1.0 rating in A18-49

NBC - 15.6 million viewers, 5.4 rating in A18-49
