US Box Office Results: November 28 - 30
THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 1 dominated the holiday weekend at the box office. its three day take was 56.9 million, but the four day weekend haul was $69 million. After 10 days of release MOCKINGJAY PT. 1 has brought in $226 million, placing it in the #7 spot, for the year. By this time next week, it should be in the #2 spot.
PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR was the number two movie of the weekend, pulling in less than half of MOCKINGJAY, with 25.8 million, for the three day weekend. Add in Thanksgiving holiday take and the animated movie has $36 million total. It should make it to over $100 million, but how much beyond that?
The other major release of the weekend, HORRIBLE BOSSES 2, could only manage $15.7 million, Friday - Sunday. Add in the Wednesday and Thursday recipts and HB2 hauled in a little over $23 million.
