Final Broadcast Ratings: December 7, 2014

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL was the dominate program on Sunday night, as it usually is. The Patriots vs Chargers game commanded 21.2 million viewers and a 7.1 demo rating. Viewership was flat, compared to last week's game, but the demo dropped by three tenths of a point.

The I LOVE LUCY Christmas special did well for CBS, pulling in numbers, slightly below what MADAME SECRETARY would bring in, with a the football halo effect. Year-to-year, the special the viewership is up 400,000 viewers, but down a tenth in the A18-49 ratings. But, the 2013 airing was on a Friday night, a little more accessible to the targeted demographic of the special.

The ABC series all pulled in lower than average ratings, with RESURRECTION losing 50% of its lead in demo audience. ABC needs to to some "marathon" burn off episodes of RESURRECTION during the holiday break to just finish out the commitment, sooner rather than later.

FOX perked up with the football lead in pumping the numbers, but FAMILY GUY still looks bad. It is basically flat out of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE. Last year, FAMILY GUY was the top program of the night, for FOX. now, it is just another comedy in the line up.
