CW Weekly Ratings: November 22 - 28, 2014
With the November sweeps ending on Wednesday night, the CW weekly numbers will have a different look, with encores and Christmas specials filling the back half of the schedule.
Of the four regular series, JANE THE VIRGIN posted a series low in viewership, with just 960,000 viewers tuning into the episode. It is the first time the new series has dipped below one million viewers, but the drop could be blamed on a second Monday night football game being played and watched by many New York CBS affiliates, producing a lot tougher night than normal. We shall see how the series rebound, come 2015, and if the CW made the right call of quickly ordering the back nine episodes for a full season run.
The WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? marathon, on Thanksgiving, did relatively well, averaging over one million viewers for the night. With the traditional primetime NFL game on the night, getting any viewership is a tough feat.
The Friday night Christmas specials averaged more viewers than the regular line up, especially in the 9 p.m. hour. The demo numbers are a little lower, as kids replaced young adults in the viewership.
For the week, the CW averaged 1.72 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in Adults 18-49. The network, like the last couple of years, will be building the weekly schedule with holiday specials and preemptions, during the month of December, with a few scattered new episodes added in.
