  • ABC cancels freshman series
  • FOX revives series after five years of being cancelled
  • NBC looking as drama for live production event
  • Sony gets major network for OTT service 
ABC cancels another series:
Just a couple of weeks after axing the first show of the year, MANHATTAN LOVE STORY, the network axed its companion series SELFIE. The series will end if/when the initial 13 episodes have aired.



ABC gives other freshman series full season order:
Despite declining ratings, ABC has given the 'back 9' order to the drama FOREVER.



WGN orders two unscripted series:
WGN America has 13 episodes each of the reality series OUTLAW COUNTRY and WRESTLING WITH DEATH. OUTLAW COUNTRY will follow the battle between law enforcement and criminals in Buckner, Missouri. WRESTLING WITH DEATH looks in on the daily operations of a Arkansas funeral home. Both series are set to premiere after the new year.



FOX revives cancelled game show:
ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER is getting a second run as a regular series, after over 5 years off the air. Jeff Foxworthy will return as host of the game show. No premiere date for the revival was announced.



The next live production on NBC will be...:
NBC is considering to expand its live event production beyond Broadway musicals and is considering Aaron Sorkin's play A FEW GOOD MEN, of which the 1992 hit movie, of the same name, was based on.



Sony gets CBS for OTT service:
In the quarterly call, CBS CEO Les Moonves stated that CBS has come to terms with Sony to have the network carried on their new online video service. [LINK]



AMC series gets 5th and final season order:
The AMC western HELL ON WHEELS received a 14 episode order for the series fifth and final season. But, the last season will be split over two years, making the series finale airing in 2016.
