SMACKDOWN moving to a new night:
SyFy is moving the long running wrestling program, SMACKDOWN, to Thursday nights, starting on January 15, 2015. The reason for the move is the hope for better ratings, especially in the young male demographics.
More DOWNTON ABBEY:
ITV has renewed the popular drama DOWNTON ABBEY for a sixth season. Season five will hit PBS in early 2015.
Netflix developing series based on Lemony Snicket books:
The streaming service announced that it will develop a live action TV series based on the 13 Lemony Snicket books. No premiere date or even show runner has been announced.
ABC sets mid-season premiere dates:
AGENT CARTER and GALAVANT have their premiere dates set by ABC. AGENT CARTER will take over AGENTS OF SHIELD's time slot, starting January 6th, 2015. SHIELD will return on March 3rd. GALAVANT will fill the gap between ONCE UPON A TIME's split season, starting January 4th, 2015. OUAT will return on March 1st.
DISH readies OTT service:
Dish CEO Charlie Ergen, announced that the satelight TV provider is ready to launch its new internet TV serives, by the end of 2014. The services is expected to be offered to customers for about $30 per month.
THE PERFECTIONIST coming to ABC Family:
The producer of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS is developing new series for ABC Family, titled THE PERFECTIONIST. The series is a murder mystery following five girls who plot the perfect revenge after their lives are ruined by a "handsome womanizer."
