Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 11/05/14
ABC had an easy time sweeping the Wednesday night ratings, as the CMA AWARDS dominated the night. The annual awards show more than doubled the next closest network, in the A18-49 ratings and nearly doubled CBS in total viewers. The 16.1 million viewers and 4.5 demo rating is not far off from last years16.8 million viewers and 4.7 demo rating. This is one of the better nights of this young 2014-15 season, for ABC.
CBS was down, week-to-week as the two crime dramas lost both viewers and demo ratings. However, SURVIVOR is up, slightly, form last week's ratings, recording 9.2 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in the A18-49 demographic.
The ratings were a little ugly in the NBC camp as all three crime dramas posted season lows in the A18-49 ratings. MYSTERIES OF LAURA placed 4th in its hour and CHICAGO PD was last at 10 p.m. Just when it looks like NBC may be turning the corner and getting better, we see night like this coming more and more frequent.
FOX was a bigger mess on the night, with HELL'S KITCHEN and RED BAND SOCIETY coming back after World series coverage, on FOX. HK was up a tenth of a point in the A18-49 ratings and flat in total viewers, from the numbers of three weeks ago. But, RED BAND SOCIETY was down in both viewers (-270k) and demo (-10%). FOX needs to get RED BAND out of the line up, as soon as they can.
