Preliminary Ratings: Tuesday 11/25/14
ABC ruled the airwaves on Tuesday night as a resurrected DANCING WITH THE STARS rose to the occasion of crowning its new champion, with the best ratings of the season. 15.8 million viewers and a 2.9 rating in Adults 18-49, tuned in to see who the new king/queen of celebrity dancing will be. Year-to-year, DWTS is up one million viewers and grew 21% in the demo ratings. Although I do not watch DWTS, it is refreshing to see a series grow through a season and end on a high note.
CBS was the #2 network on the night, with a solid performance in all three hours. PERSON OF INTEREST topped CHICAGO FIRE by more than 30% in total viewers and topped CHICAGO FIRE, in the A18-49 ratings, for the first time this season.
NBC was relegated to third place in both total viewers and in the A18-49 demographic. This is the lowest rated Tuesday night for NBC, this season. THE VOICE tied a season low for the Tuesday night edition and CHICAGO FIRE dropped a half a point (-24%) in the demo, from last week. The comedies are toast and are just occupying space until their episode commitment is done.
The CW and FOX battled it out for the #4 spot, with FOX edging ahead for the spot. THE FLASH was edged out of the #4 spot by MASTERCHEF JR. by just one tenth of a point. It might be fun to see how FOX does against the CW, once encores hit in December.
