Late Night Ratings: October 6 - 31, 2014
JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE posted one of its best back-to-back weeks in a while, as the last two weeks have pushed the talk show to a solid #2 ranking and headed towards a declining TONIGHT SHOW. The week of October 20th, JKL was within two tenths of a ratings point, in the A18-49 demo, of THE TONIGHT SHOW and was about a half million total viewers behind. The four week average still placed JKL in third place, but once the older weeks fall of, expect ABC to be a clear #2 choice in late night TV.
The opposite effect is going on at CBS, with the LATE LATE SHOW posting one of its lowest numbers, during the most recent week of ratings. It fell behind CONAN in the A1-49 ratings and was the least watched late night program, on broadcast TV. Things should perk up for the Craig Ferguson show, as week long music acts (Metallica) are lining up to help close out his tenure at CBS.
