CW Weekly Ratings: October 27 - 31, 2014

For the first time this fall, the CW aired its 2014 fall line up, all in the same week. However, the numbers took a slight drop in the ratings, when compared with last week's numbers.

The lowest rated night on the schedule was Friday, Halloween night. Not surprising to see TOP MODEL be the only CW program to draw under one million viewers, but it should bounce back next. WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? returned from two week's off and posted one of the lowest numbers it has in a long time, for an original Friday night episode.

The shine on JANE THE VIRGIN appears to be dulling a bit. The freshman series has already lost one-third of its premiere audience and is now the lowest rated scripted series on the network. It does have a full season order, so I doubt the CW will pull the series. However, I wonder if they are regretting the quick renewal, after just two episodes.

All of the CW shows saw a drop in the ratings, in either category, from the previous week, except THE ORIGINALS, which slight grew in viewers and stayed flat in the A18-49 ratings. ARROW did see viewership drop a few 100k, but it was the only program to see a rise in its demo ratings.

The CW averaged 1.65 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in Adults 18-49. Year-to-year, the CW is averaging higher ratings, despite producing less 2+ million viewers shows. Last year the network had four shows with over two million viewers. This year, just two, but THE FLASH makes up a lot of those losses.
