Primetime Cable Ratings: September 30, 2014

Major League Baseball began its post-season play with the AL Wildcard Game, on TBS. The extra inning game collected a strong 5.2 million viewers and a 1.7 rating in Adults 18-49. That is up about a half a million viewers and 21% in the demo ratings. Close games produce better ratings, especially when underdog teams come up big.

SONS OF ANARCHY was down year-to-year, with the four million viewers and 2.1 demo rating. The difference from 2013 was about 600,000 viewers and a loss of 12% in the A18-49 ratings. SOA was still the top draw among the A18-49 crowd.

19 KIDS AND COUNTING came up big, with back-to-back episode making the top five. The series averaged just under 2.5 million viewers and a 1.0 demo rating, during the 9 p.m. hour.
