Preliminary Ratings: Tuesday 10/14/14
Week two of THE FLASH held up well, for the CW. The superhero series collected 4.1 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in Adults 18-49, for its second episode. That is a drop of 700k in total viewers and 16% in the demo ratings. Not bad considering the network and today's TV environment. THE FLASH helped push the CW past ABC and FOX, again.ABC's programs hit season lows, across the board. MANHATTAN LOVE STORY is on the border of dipping below three million viewers. SELFIE is quickly following LOVE STORY in the ratings and the once hot drama FOREVER is beginning to look very limited. Even AGENTS OF SHIELD's numbers look bad now. It is time for ABC to take action on the night, before its too late.
FOX is just pathetic on Tuesdays. Even the once demo dtrong show NEW GIRL is just lifeless in the ratings, not doing much better than the ABC comedies. THE MINDY PROJECT is as bad as MANHATTAN LOVE STORY.
On the brighter side, CBS had the two most watched shows of the night, with both NCIS series getting 15+ million viewers. The demo ratings are just a click down from last week, but still good enough to place second at 8 p.m. and win the 9 p.m. hour, in the A18-49 ratings.
The ratings slide for THE VOICE has begun. The signing competition series dropped almost two million viewers and 20% in the demo, from the last Tuesday original episode, two weeks earlier. The series could drop below a 3.0 rating, by the time the November sweeps arrive.
The series premiere of MARRY ME wasn't great. The show lost nearly 35% of its lead in, and could be more once Finals are reported. ABOUT A BOY did about what was expected for the 9:30 slot, holding about 80% of the lead in. but, the half point drop (-24%) in the demo is not a good sign for the second season series.
