CW Weekly Ratings: Sep. 29 - Oct. 3, 2014

The CW began rolling out its 2014 fall programs with the season premieres of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and the sophomore drama REIGN. TVD was the most watched program of the network, collecting 1.8 million viewers and a0.9 demo rating, but those numbers are down from last year, including a lost of 25% of the A18-49 demographic.

REIGN had a bad start to the 2014-15 season, losing nearly half the total viewers and over 50% of the demo audience. REIGN did worse than the Friday night programs, which are usually the weaker spot of the CW schedule. This could be the first spot, on the CW schedule, to get altered at mid-season.

The two night iHeart Radio special did better than some of its recent specials. Tuesday night grabbed one million viewers, better than what the reruns could have done. it is still a struggle for the iHeart specials to draw viewers, despite this being one of the more attractive platforms for the music series.

For the week, The CW averaged 1.01 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49. The numbers will climb over the next week or two as the remainder of the CW schedule debuts. We will also see if the CW can top FOX on a couple of nights, including Friday nights.
