The streaming service, Netflix, passed HBO in subscriber revenue, $1.15 billion to $1.14 billion. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings posted the news to Facebook, noting that his company is still behind when it comes to profits.
X-Factor back in the USA:
AXS TV will begin running the UK version of the reality competition series X FACTOR. That means Simon Cowell can be seen by American audiences once again. The USA airings will begin on August 31st.
EXTANT finale moved:
With the ratings moving southward, CBS has announced that EXTANT will air double episodes on August 20th and 27th and have moved the season (series) finale to September 17, from the 24th. The series continues to lose viewership, especially in the valued A18-49 demographic.
Disney renews freshman comedy:
GIRL MEETS WORLD has been given the green light for a second season, by Disney. No relase on episode count or time frame of the second season premiere.
THE BIG BANG THEORY contract negotiations are all complete:
Recently, the three main stars of the hit comedy received pay raises to $1 million per episode. This week, co-stars Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg will get something in the range of $500k per episode.
CSI: CYBER adds another cast member:
One of the stars from the recently cancelled sitcom FRENDS WITH BETTER LIVES< James Van Der Beek, will join the cast of the new crime drama, CSI: CYBER.
ABC cancels drama:
As no surprise, ABC has cancelled the low rated drama BLACK BOX after one season.
