Nickelodeon has given a green light to 13 episodes of the new musical-sitcom series SCHOOL OF ROCK. The series is based on the 2003 theatrical movie, starring Jack Black. This is not the first TV series based on the movie. in 2005, VH1 aired GENE SIMMONS SCHOOL OF ROCK, a reality series with the rocker mixing with real school kids and giving them musical/life lessons.
BIG BANG to resume production:
The contracts negotiations for the stars of THE BIG BANG THEORY have been resolved and the series and production will resume later this week. The top 3 stars, Parson, Cuoco & Galecki will each be paid $1 million per episode, plus back end money. Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are still negotiating their contracts, but are close to closing their deals.
Vince Vaughn for TRUE DETECTIVE?:
Reports are out that Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers) may join the cast of the second season of TRUE DETECTIVE. other actors in line for a possible role in the series have been Colin Ferrell and Taylor Kitsch.
SOUL MAN gets a fourth season:
Despite less than stellar ratings, TV LAND has given the sitcom SOUL MAN a renewal for a 4th season. Season four will premiere in 2015, with 12 new episodes.
Spike picks up COACHING BAD:
Former NFL player Ray Lewis will star in the new Spike TV series COACHING BAD. The series will feature nine coaches and am anger management professional working on their issues of anger. the series will run for eight episodes, premiering in early 2015.
Fire TV adds channels:
Amazon's Fire TV has added the WWE Channel, MLB TV and Watch Disney to the streaming service.
