Ratings Review: BEAUTY & THE BEAST (Summer 2014)

The six episode summer season of BEAUTY & THE BEAST were the 'left over' episode from the second season, when the series when on hiatus, early in the spring. Unfortunately, absence did not make the fan's heart grow fonder as the poor ratings continued into the summer.

The ratings were consistently low through the summer run, with only the 'premiere' episode getting above one million viewers. I still don't get why the CW is bringing this back, even as a mid-season series. But, if international distribution of the series is doing good numbers, why not air the series on American TV?

For the season, BEAUTY & THE BEAST averaged 840,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating in Adults 18-49. The CW will need to end the series after this third season. it can't continue to be a network and air shows that can't even get close to one million viewers an episode.
