Primetime Cable Ratings: June 11, 2014
The season premiere of DUCK DYNASTY ruled the night, grabbing 4.6 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49, easily topping game four of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. But, DUCK DYNASTY is not the mega-hit it once was. Comparing the Season five opener (Mid-January, 2014) the series is down 3.9 million viewers. Compared to season four, which premiered in mid-August, 2013, the series is off by 7.1 million viewers. Between over-saturation and the controversy, viewers are beginning to tire of the reality show.
Following DUCK DYNASTY, A&E gave us the new series BIG SMO, which kept 2.2 million viewers from the DD lead in. That is less than half the viewers. Not a good sign for A&E which is looking for the next big hit.
The big winner of the night was TBS, with it's five rerun episodes of THE BIG BANG THEORY. The 8:30 to 11:00 block averaged 2.7 million viewers and a 1.1 demo rating. The five episodes also represent half of the top 10 chart
