Complete Nielsen Ratings: April 28 - May 4, 2014
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #98:
The broadcast networks stayed the course again this week. CBS takes four of the five ratings categories, matching ABC in the A18-49 ratings, while ABC has an outright win the A18-34 ratings. NBC and FOX finish up in 3rd and 4th position, respectively, for the week.
CBS was easily the most watched network as it produced six top 10 shows and a total of 20 in the top 30 chart. What may have held CBS back is the 90 minutes of low rated repeat programming on Monday nights, from 9:30 to 11 p.m. NCIS and THE BIG BANG THEORY were your top two programs of the week, with BIG BANG taking the #1 spot in the A1-49 ratings.
ABC pushed seven shows in the top 30, with a strong showing by DANCING WITH THE STARS getting its best numbers of the season, with nearly 15.9 million viewers and a 2.6 demo rating. that was more than enough for the #3 spot of the week. But, it was the networks only top 10 show and one third of the networks offerings to make the top 20.
NBC continues to be top heavy. The string ratings it gets from THE VOICE and THE BLACKLIST almost compensate the bad ratings it gets from a majority of the balance of the network's schedule. The two top rated series were the networks only top 10, top 20, and top 30 programs.
Things are only getting worse for FOX. Just one top 30 program, in AMERICAN IDOL, and adding the second night of IDOL is the complete list of top 50 shows from the network.
The CW continues to do relatively well. It matched the previous week's ratings, a good sighn of stability in a part of the season that sees declines in the ratings.
The five broadcast networks will present their upfronts next week. NBC will kick things off on Mothers Day, followed by FOX, ABC, CBS and lastly, The CW. Each have their own day for presentations.
