Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 03/23/14

Thanks to about 45 minutes of overrun NCAA Tournament Basketball, CBS was the #1 network on Sunday night. The late basketball game drew 13.9 million viewers, into primetime, and registered a 3.9 rating in Adults 18-49. It was the most watched broadcast program of the night.

With the regular schedule of CBS shifted 45 minutes, most of the shows saw their numbers increase over last week. Only THE MENTALIST saw the numbers go down, week-to-week, because of the 10:45 p.m. start.

The three new drama series on the night saw their numbers drop significantly, from the previous week. RESURRECTION, on ABC, dropped two million viewers and 19% in the demo ratings. NBC's CRISIS and BELIEVE lost roughly 1.5 million viewers and 20% in the demo.

The 8 p.m. series premiere of AMERICAN DREAM BUILDERS was a flop. It barely registered an increase in the ratings, out of a repeat of THE VOICE, at 7 p.m. ADB was the lowest rated original program of the night, in the A18-49 ratings. Last week, two repeat hours of THE VOICE drew a 1.4 demo rating.
