Preliminary Ratings: Friday 03/07/14

ABC has turned that corner and is now the network to beat on Friday nights. The combination of SHARK TANK and 20/20 is now becoming the class of the night. The two series are consistently averaging a 1.9, or better, in the A18-49 ratings, over the two hour block. Perhaps a new sitcom staring a classic actor, is the missing piece to the puzzle, on the night.
This was the last Friday of encores for WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY before new episodes air next week. The series nearly beat the two sitcoms on FOX, which are airing original episodes. We could see The CW top FOX, next week.

CBS is a solid and consistent performer on the night, with each of the three series drawing a 1.4 demo rating. Good numbers on the night, plus great viewership totals. But, I have to believe UNDERCOVER BOSS could be the odd man out come May upfronts. CBS needs something to reignite the night, similar to what SHARK TANK has done for ABC.

Consider HANNIBAL a dead show. It was a distant third at 10 p.m. and lost more than a half million viewers from last week. With some successes being found on other nights, NBC can do better than HANNIBAL for next season.

CBS - 9.9 million viewers, 1.4 rating in Adults 18-49

CW - 0.9 million viewers, 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49

FOX - 2.5 million viewers, 0.7 rating in Adults 18-49

NBC - 5.2 million viewers, 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49
