Ratings: Broadcast Finals for February 17, 2014

Three of the four networks challenged NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympics by programing a full night of new programing on Monday. Only CBS gave us encores, but just for two of the three hours.

Kicking things off was the series premiere of the new CW program STAR CROSSED. If the numbers hold, it will have the best numbers, by a regular series, for the Monday, 8 p.m. time slot. The new drama collected 1.3 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49. The numbers could have been better had it not had the Olympics to go against, but any delay in the premier would have left it against THE VOICE.

ABC did the best against the games, but THE BACHELOR was down, slightly, from last week. CASTLE was back with an original episode, but the 7.8 million viewers is a season low and the 1.7 demo rating ties the season's low. Did ABC waste an episode of CASTLE by airing against the Olympics?

FOX was mostly even from last week as both dramas posted the same A18-49 numbers as they did the previous week. THE FOLLOWING did see a bit of an increase in total viewers.

Day 12 of the Sochi Games did draw it's best numbers since last Tuesday's coverage, thanks to a Gold Medal win in Ice Dancing, for the USA. Last Tuesday was also the last day that NBC has seen an A18-49 rating at or above a 6.0. More than likely, those younger viewers are getting their Olympics fix via streaming outlets.

NBC - 23.6 million viewers, 5.6 rating in Adults 18-49
