Ratings: Broadcast Finals for January 30, 2014

CBS easily swept the Thursday night ratings with it's Thursday night line up back in originals for the first time in three weeks. THE BIG BANG THEORY was the #1 show of the night, hauling in 19.1 million viewers and a 5.2 rating in Adults 18-49. As good as the numbers are, they were down 6% in viewers and 13% in the demo, from the last time the CBS Thursday line up was in original episodes. But, that was before AMERICAN IDOL began it's 2014 season.

Week two of the new FOX series RAKE is not looking good. Not only is it losing over half the viewers AI brings in, it was down 25% in both reported ratings categories. The odds are starting to go against RAKE finishing the season before a cancellation.

NBC got some decent ratings out of SNL, as "Best Of" special on sports sketches drew the best rating in the slot, for NBC, since the SOUND OF MUSIC special, late last year. This is proof NBC can get ratings on the night, even against strong competition. They just have to program shows people actually want to watch.
