Ratings: Broadcast Finals for January 22, 2014

With the hype of AMERICAN IDOL cooling off, ABC and NBC snapped back to normal viewing levels. Both networks saw significant rises in both total viewers and in the A18-49 numbers. NBC had the biggest gain, jumping up nearly one million viewers.

CBS had a slight drop for it's two dramas, but the encore comedies were significantly off from last Wednesday's repeats. The use of two freshmen sitcoms were off by as much as 40%, thus giving a weaker lead in to CRIMINAL MINDS.

With all this fluctuation, FOX was still the #1 network on the night as AMERICAN IDOL collected 13.3 million viewers and a 4.0 demo rating. However, that is down nearly 2 million viewers and 15% in the demographic, from last Wednesday's season premiere. The good sign is the numbers did not have the bottom drop out.
