Ratings: Broadcast Finals for January 19, 2014

All eyes were on FOX sunday night, with it's presentation of the NFC Championship game, played in Seattle. The game, decided in the last seconds, hauled in 55.9 million viewers, making it the one of the five most watched NFC conference games ever. This continues the trend of much higher ratings for the NFL playoffs as just about every game broke records or reached long time highs. The Super Bowl should easily become the all-time most watched program on US TV.

Following the game was a special season premiere episode of the drama THE FOLLOWING. Yes, 80% of viewers did not stick around to watch the second year series, but it did pull in good numbers for FOX. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait nine days before the next episode of the season. Many believe FOX should kept their original schedule and promoted the new drama RAKE, starring Greg Kinnear, which will premiere this Thursday night.

The other three networks didn't do much in the ratings. REVENGE was the best of the rest in the A18-49 numbers, while 60 MINUTES drew the most viewers.
