Primetime Cable Ratings: January 29, 2014
The AMERICAN HORROR STORY season finale brought in 4.24 million viewers and scored a 2.2 rating in Adults 18-49, as it was the #2 cable of the Wednesday night. The 2.2 demo rating is the #2 best rating of the night, when you add in the five broadcast networks. The show was also the night's #1 TV program on Twitter, drawing 3.9 million unique accounts.Some of the buzz on Twitter about the finale sounded as if it was a big disappointment. The top program of the night was DUCK DYNASTY, which rebounded from last week, gaining about 850,000 viewers from last week. There was some concern that last week's drop from the premiere episode was backlash from Phil Robertson's comments last year. It mow looks to be nothing more than a drop every series will experience, from time to time.
The second week of WAHLBURGERS rose 700k in viewers, nearly matching the same rise as DD. An increase in the lead in is never a guarantee of ratings gains, if viewers do not like the show. It looking like A&E may have another hit on their hands.
