Ratings: Broadcast Finals for December 18, 2013

The Barbara Walters special 10 MOST FASCINATING PEOPLE was the night's #1 show in both total viewers (8.9 million) and in the A18-49 ratings (2.2) Compared to last' years special, it was flat in the demo ratings, but up in total viewers by 1.3 million viewers. In 2011, the special drew 8.4 million viewers and a 2.3 demo rating.

THE X FACTOR finale, part 1, didn't make much of a dent for FOX. Just 5 million viewers and a 1.3 mark in the A18-49 ratings is all it could achieve. Of course, it is only the second time the series has reached 5 million viewers, since Thanksgiving.

Michael Buble defeated Celine Dion in the celebrity Christmas specials. His 3RD CHRISTMAS SPECIAL drew slightly more viewers, but more than double up Celine's HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS in the A18-49 ratings. Buble's Christmas specials have and a steady decline in the ratings, falling from 7.1 million viewers an a 1.5 demo in 2011, to 5.7 million and a 1.4 demo in 2012. It might be tough for NBC to green light a 4th special in 2014.

For once this season, an iHEART RADIO special actually drew an audience. The JINGLE BALLS edition brought the network 1.3 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating, Just shy of tying CBS during the 8 p.m. hour, in the young demographic numbers.
