Complete Nielsen Ratings: Dec. 9 - 16, 2013
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #94:
CBS, NBC and FOX had something to cheer about this week as all three networks won at least one of the five measured categories this week. CBS was the top dog in viewers, households and tied NBC in Adults 25-54. Along with the tie, NBC took the A18-49 ratings, while FOX won the A18-34 ratings. ABC was 4th place in every category.
CBS had a pretty good week, placing six shows in the top 10, another six in the top 20 and an additional six in the top 30. Helping the averages a bit was a good showing by three classic holiday programs on Saturday night. a second airing of the season by RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER drew a 1.4 rating in Adults 18-49 and FROSTY THE SNOW MAN followed with a 1.5 rating.
NBC show it's weakness this week as SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL drew it's worst ratings of the season. A low rated football game drug down the network averages to below CBS in all but the single category it won. The game plus the two editions of THE VOICE and FOOTBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA all ranked 11th or better, but only CHICAGO FIRE and one episode of THE SING OFF added in complete the list of NBC's top 35 shows. It will be tough for NBC during the month of January with no THE VOICE or Football, but THE WINTER OLYMPIC will keep it looking good for 16 days in February.
Most of FOX's success this week comes directly from the NFL overrun game on Sunday. Not only did it draw nearly 28 million viewers for the first hour of primetime, the Animation block that followed drew it's best numbers of the season. Together, it was enough to nip NBC for the A18-34 crown.
ABC did not have a good week. Just four shows in the top 30, lead by MODERN FAMILY (#12) with 10.6 million. SCANDAL, GREY'S ANATOMY and THE MIDDLE round out the list for ABC.
The CW had a so-so week. Only two of the nights sired their regular scheduled series, in regional episodes. The network did lose to ION in total viewership and households.
