TOP 10: Fall 2013 Bubble Shows

We are just one week end and there is plenty of speculation as to which series will be cancelled and when. Some series where obvious, before the season began, while others are a bit of a surprise. Here is my list of the TOP 10 Bubble shos of this fall.

10) BACK IN THE GAME (ABC):
The new ABC sitcom with the best timeslot on the network performed decently for its first episode, but, it generated just a 2.2 rating in Adults 18-49.  To early to tell if the series has legs, or not, but it is on the bubble.

9) THE GOLDBERGS (ABC):
Opening up after the AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D debut help boost the numbers for the freshman series. However, it did lose 26% in viewers, from its lead in and down 34% in the important A18-49 ratings. The lead in will only go so far as I can see a ratings free fall for THE GOLDBERGS.

8) REVOLUTION (NBC):
As one of two series on the list that are not in their first season, REVOLUTION was down five million viewers and 60% from its series premiere in 2012. It was also down 10% in the demo ratings from its season finale, in June.  Despite a 22 episode order. If things sink fast, REVOLUTION will be pulled and, perhaps, banished to Saturdays.

7) THE NEIGHBORS (ABC):
Yes, this is another ABC comedy, but from the start of the season, two weeks ago, the ratings have been awful. If by the third episode the A18-49 ratings fall below a 1.0 rating, it will be pulled. ABC does not need a stinker leading into the one show on Friday night that does extremely well.

6) HOSTAGES (CBS):
This limited CBS series was a turn to bring life back to the time slot. However, facing CASTLE and THE BLACKLIST may prove to be to much. Its is a third place series that started off on the down side. It may complete its run, but I doubt it will be on Monday nights and/or before June.

5) TROPHY WIFE (ABC):
This series is generic and predictable with not many laughs included. Add that to mediocre ratings and you have the making of a cancelled sitcom. The only thing that may save the series is that ABC ahs too many other problems happening. It can only replace so many shows at one time.

4) MOM (CBS):
CBS is not the network it once was, on Monday nights. MOM is the weaker link of the comedies. If the retention numbers widened, CBS has MIKE AND MOLLY waiting in the wings. But, CBS does not usually move quickly, so it has a chance to at least get 13 episodes out before quietly fading off the schedule.

3) DADS (FOX):
FOX debuted the series a week early and the ratings were encouraging. it was up from the previous year for the time slot. But, once the other networks debuted their programs, the next week, viewers quickly abandoned the series. It is already below 4 million viewers, but FOX stuck with BEN & KATE for five months before axing that series.

2) BETRAYAL (ABC):
Each network has that one time slot they cant seem to find an audience for. For ABC its Sundays at 10 p.m. BETRAYAL broguht in just 5.3 million viewers and a 1.6 demo rating. That is about 2.4 million viewers and 30% in the A18-49 ratings lost from its REVENGE lead in. It may get a few episodes to see if it can build an audience, but if it doesn't, it is gone by the November sweeps.

1) LUCKY 7 (ABC):
The series debuted to just 4.4 million viewers and a pathetic 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. If episode two is even worse, I do expect ABC to pull the series before a third episode can air. LUCKY 7 should be the first series cancelled in the 2013-14 season.
