Ratings: Broadcast Finals for October 8, 2013
The CW launched its Tuesday night line up and it fared decently against tough competition. THE ORIGINALS held on to about 86% of its audience from the Thursday night premiere, last week. it is also well above last years occupant of the time slot, HART OF DIXIE, which premiered its 2012 season to just 1.2 million viewers.
SUPERNATURAL posted strong numbers at 9 p.m., for the CW. The 2.6 million viewers and 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49 is a huge improvement from its 2012 premiere, after OH SIT! season finale., on a Wednesday night. it is up over 600,000 viewers and 50% in the demo, from last year. It also is a vast improvement from the 2012 time slot premiere of EMILY OWENS, M.D. which managed only 1.7 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating. It is looking as if the middle of the CW schedule, or 60%, should do decent ratings. Now, if only Mondays and Fridays could shape up...
It only took week three of the season for NEW GIRL to out perform THE GOLDBERGS, in the A18-49 ratings, at 9 p.m. While THE GOLDBERGS dropped 14% in the demo, NEW GIRL rose 11% in the category, from the previous week. It may be time to officially add THE GOLDBERGS to the death watch list, which is filling up with many ABC series.
THE VOICE took a hit with a recap show on Tuesday night. It still managed to win the time slot in the demo ratings, with a 3.0 mark.
