Ratings: Broadcast Finals for October 22, 2013

Up until now, NBC had been owning Tuesday nights. Now, CBS is knocking at the door, wanting its share.

NBC has taken a hit by scaling back THE VOICE to one hour and adding THE BIGGEST LOSER to the schedule. The weight loss series dropped 1/2 million viewers 13% in the A18-49 ratings, from last week's season premiere. THE VOICE was able to slightly increase its ratings from a week earlier, but CHICAGO FIRE dropped similar numbers as TBL did at 8 p.m. These losses have allowed CBS to sneak back in the demo ratings race.

CBS, already dominating the night in total viewership, is now within a single ratings point in the A18-49 category, from NBC. PERSON OF INTEREST posted one of its stronger night in the ratings and overtook CHICAGO FIRE in the A18-49 ratings, sweeping the night in the ratings.

More good news for CBS as NCIS is now dominating the 8 p.m. hour in the A18-49 ratings, as AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to lose viewers each week. The new ABC action drama is now down to just over 7.4 million viewers and a 2.7 rating in Adults 18-49. It is now trailing NCIS by 10% in the ratings demographic.

Although not great, SHARK TANK was the sole reason for the lift in ABC's network average. It nearly doubled the A18-49 ratings the SCANDAL encore collected last week, in the 10 p.m. hour.

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE rises in the ratings in both viewers and demographic numbers, with 3.8 million viewers and a 1.6 A18-49 rating, The lift was 10% in viewers and 7% in the demo ratings. FOX could do much better moving BNN to 9:30, after NEW GIRL, and cutting the other two sitcoms,  starting over in the 8 p.m. hour. BONES would be a nice complement to the night and not be wasted on Fridays.

CBS - 15.7 million viewers, 2.6 rating in Adults 18-49

CW - 2.3 million viewers, 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49

FOX - 3.4 million viewers, 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49

NBC - 9.1 million viewers, 2.7 rating in Adults 18-49
