Ratings: Broadcast Finals for October 13, 2013
Lets start the Sunday night review from the bottom up. ABC's new drama BETRAYAL may have aired its last episode as the third outing could only draw 2.9 million viewers and a 0.8 rating in Adults 18-49. That is off by over two million viewers and 47% in the demo ratings, from it's series premiere on September 29th. The numbers are also in the same "bad" neighborhood that got LUCKY 7 axed after two weeks. I would not be surprised if ABC announced TODAY that BETRAYAL is off the schedule, immediately.
Both ABC and CBS actually took a strong hit in the ratings on Sunday. all series are down considerably from the previous week's rating. ONCE UPON A TIME and THE MENTALIST took smaller hits than the other programs from the two networks.
FOX had a nice rise in the ratings, thanks to game two of the ALCS. Viewership was way up from what the animated comedies can deliver and the all-improtant demo rating was up by nearly 50%, True, the baseball game was dominated by SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL by about a 3:1 margin, but the ratings are up from last year's coverage of the NLCS. A late inning comeback by the Red Sox might actually spark an interest in the casual viewer when game #4 is played in primetime on Wednesday.
As expected, NBC wins the night with its three hour coverage of NFL Football. the game was up 4.5 million viewers from last week's game and the A18-49 ratings jumped 20%. This was a much better matchup, involving teams with strong followings that stretch across the country.
