Ratings: Broadcast Finals for September 11, 2013
The first true new premiere of the 2013-14 season happened on Wednesday Night with THE X-FACTOR jumping in two weeks ear;y. The third year talent competition series fell flat, pulling in just 6.2 million viewers and a 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49. The premiere is down 29% in total viewers and a whopping 42% in the A18-49 ratings. In other words, 2.5 million viewers abandoned the series over the course of 12 months. Ouch!
Lifting up FOX a bit was the season finale of MASTERCHEF. It grew 14% in the demo ratings, from its lead in and equalled THE X-FACTOR in viewers. Perhaps in 2012, FOX should put THE X-FACTOR on during the summer, and let MASTERCHEF take over the fall spot.
Night #3 of MILLION SECOND QUIZ saw more erosion for the game show, as it lost another 600,000 viewers and 14% in the demo, from Tuesday night. Since the premiere, on Monday, the game show is off by 1.3 million viewers and 24% in the demo ratings.
Following MSQ was AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, which was the most watched program on broadcast TV, with 10.8 million viewers, but finished tied with THE X-FACTOR for third overall.
BIG BROTHER quietly won its 8 p.m. time slot in both viewers and demo ratings, and was second in the A18-49 ratings to MASTERCHEF.
