Ratings: Broadcast Finals for September 8, 2013

FOOTBALL is king as the opening weekend of the 2013 NFL season dominates the Sunday night ratings. FOX takes the top spot with its one hour overrun of the late afternoon games, which haul in 28.5 million viewers and a 10.6 rating in Adults 18-49. That topped the SUNDAY NIGHT GAME by more than three million viewers and 6% in the demo. The overrun also helped inflate the ratings on the ANIMATION DOMINATION block. America is happy to have the NFL back in season!

CBS got a little milage from its overrun coverage of the USA TENNIS OPEN, drawing 6.2 million viewers and a 1.4 demo rating into primetime. The Women's Final Match help boost up both 60 MINUTES and BIG BROTHER as they posted double-digit growth over last week, including 70% in the demo ratings for 60 MINUTES.

ABC was left out in the cold, averaging last than a 1.0 in the A18-49 ratings and under 4 million viewers. SECRET MILLIONAIRE was the only original program for the network, and grabbed the best numbers, with 4.5 million viewers and a 1.1 demo rating.
