Primetime Cable Ratings: September 9, 2013
Not a real surprise that the season premiere, doubleheader of MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL dominated Monday night's cable ratings. The two games ranked as the #1 and #2 programs in all of TV and the 7 p.m. game, featuring the Eagles vs Redskins, was the highest rated season opener for MNF since ESPN has been airing the franchise, back in 2006.
Between the two games, ESPN averaged 13.7 million viewers and a 5.8 rating in Adults 18-49. not bad for about seven hours of programming. Next week, ESPN will air the Steelers vs Bengals game, which should not bring in the same number of viewers as the season opener.
