The final week of the 2012-13 season was a very active week for TV. FOX jumped out early, premiering most of its 2013-14 line up. CBS Gave us season finales of its hits BIG BROTHER and UNDER THE DOME. The peacock network was loaded with summer finales, plus its Sunday Night Football game. Even ABC saw their ratings go up.
CBS swept the week in all categories, with a variety of programming. The BIG BROTHER finale finished in 20th place, drawing 6.7 million viewers. Hit drama UNDER THE DOME closed out its summer run in the #5 spot, with 12.1 million viewers. The Sunday overrun of NFL Football toiped the chart with over 25.5 million viewers and the Primetime Emmy Awards hauled in 17.8 million viewers, good enough for 3rd place.
NBC was right on CBS' heels with its combination of two editions AMERICA'S GOT TALENT in the top 10, both with 11.2 million viewers, and the SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL game at #2 and 20.5 million viewers.
Despite premiering six series this week, FOX could not get out of 4th place. However, it did place six programs in the top 30, including its top program, SLEEPY HOLLOW, at #9 with 10.1 million viewers.
ABC premiered its Friday night line up, plus DANCING WITH THE STARS and pushed up to 3rd place for the week. DWTS was the 4th most watched program, getting 16 million viewers to tune in. Three of its four Friday night programs finished 21st or better, with only THE NEIGHBORS outside the top 40.
Looking at the 52-week season averages, CBS was #1 in both viewers (9.96 million) and in the A18-49 demographic ratings (2.4). ABC was second in viewership (6.96), but fourth in the demo ratings (2.0). NBC was just behind ABC in viewership (6.67), but finished in second place in the A18-49 ratings (2.2). FOX was fourth in viewership (5.97) and third in the demo (2.1).
