Top 20 Scripted Cable Programs: July 22 - 28, 2013

2013 is the summer of the cable dramas. Outside of Disney and Cartoon Network, only THE GAME is considered a comedy, that is in this week's top 20 scripted programs. Half of all original primetime programs in the top 40, consist of these twenty programs. That includes sports, news and reality programs.

TNT continues to dominate in the ratings. The drama network has the top two most watched programs and a total of five series in the top 11. Come contract time, TNT and the corporate owner Time Warner, could see battle with the cable companies over increased subscriber fees, with the increase of viewership for the network.

DISNEY placed the most programs in the chart, with six, including another encore airing of the hit TV movie TEEN BEACH MOVIE. Disney does not air commercials, so its revenue sole comes from subscriber fees, which are based on total viewer ratings. Another increase looks to be in the channel's future.
