Ratings Review: RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (Season Seven)
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT was never a massive hit like THE BIG BANG THEORY or TWO AND A HALF MEN, but it was always better than most other series like OLD CHRISTINE, PARTNERS, and HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN.
During its seven season run, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT only ONCE made 22 episodes in a single season. Only TWICE did CBS order a full season of the comedy, but that first full order was cut down by the writers strike. But, as the series closed up shop, it finally made the magical 100 episode milestone on its finale episode.
The seventh and finale season of RULES OF ENGAGEMENT averaged 6.8 million viewers and a 2.2 demo rating for the 14 airings, including one repeat. As a mid-season replacement series, it had many weeks with the rest of CBS programs of the night airing repeats, while it was airing a new episode.
